Program Structure
The "Laurea Magistrale in Economics and Finance" (LMEF) is an advanced two-year course offered by the Naples School of Economics, which groups the graduate programs in economics and finance of the University of Naples Federico II. Admission is based upon previous academic performance and knowledge of English. The course is open to students with a three-years undergraduate degree. The purpose of LMEF is to provide students with the tools to analyse economic and financial problems in a rigorous fashion. LMEF prepares students for a professional career in banking, consulting, insurance and financial services, international and public institutions, and research institutes or for pursuing graduate studies in economics and finance. The program is taught entirely in English. Classes are taught by academics from the University of Napoli Federico II and other U.S. and European universities. By the end of the second year, students will have received enough training to undertake independent analysis of many economic and financial problems. Student assessment is based on exams and a final dissertation due at the end of the second year. LMEF students are expected to take 10 exams. The total credits are 120, divided as follows:
- six core modules (66 credits),
- four elective modules (24 credits)
- other training activities (stages, summer schools, training, etc.) (6 credits)
- the final dissertation (24 credits).
